International Delusions

"Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one."

I have voted Liberal Democrat for 20 years but as the "Left" declines further and further into insanity and leaves me further and further to the "Right", I see no alternative but to vote for the BNP (or another right-of-centre party should one appear). Tired of seeing the ever increasing number of rabid, ludicrous, hate-filled, "left-wing" blogs, I thought I'd better participate. Now it seems this makes me a racist, fascist, Islamophobic, "Zio-Nazi" (!), crusading white supremacist! I'm such an enigma, even to myself.

Islamophobia - an entirely rational recognition of the threat posed by radical Islam.

Racist/Fascist/Islamophobe/Etc. - anyone who recognises said threat or attempts to resist the global jihad.

Muslims 'well integrated' in US

You'd never guess from the mainstream coverage of this survey that:

13% said suicide bombings on civilian targets could be justified - 26% amongst younger Muslims (9% "didn't know")

15% said Al-Qaeda was, to some degree, favourable (27% "didn't know")

28% don't believe arabs were involved in 9/11 (32% "didn't know")

42% said there was a conflict between their faith and modern life

60% think of themselves as Muslim first

61% think homosexuality should be "discouraged" (but apparently 63% are Democrats)

39% aren't too concerned about the rise of Islamic extremism in the US

(Ace of Spades has a good summary of the spin)

From last year, British Muslims are equally "well integrated":

47% believe there's a conflict between being a devout Muslim and living in a western society.

15% support suicide bombings.

56% of British Muslims don't believe Arabs had anything to do with 9/11.

73% blame "Western disrespect" for the "cartoons controversy" and 92% are sympathetic to those who were offended.

14% have confidence in Bin-Laden while 68% have little confidence (I'm going to assume the missing 18% thought better of voicing their opinion)

Update 25May - CAIR's Fuzzy Math, Media bombs - "26 percent looms large when it describes the number of American Muslims, ages 18-29, who support suicide bombings "in defense of Islam"".
